Mego Madness

This spot is just hilarious. It's way too long for it to be an actual TV commercial, it was most likely a spot to sell the toys to the stores or distributors.

The descriptions of some of the characters range from hilarious to inaccurate or plain old wrong, and in one instance comically racist (more accurately just really not PC by todays standards).

And some of the "action" shots of the heroes are pretty lame. The Hulk seems to be drunkenly leaning into the rocks that I think he's supposed to be smashing through.

I used to have a ton of different Mego figures as a kid, and they fetch big bucks with collectors now.

The trailer for the third and final? Pirates of the Caribbean flick is on the web, and you can check it out below.

But if you really want to see it in all it's glory, check out the HD trailer here.

I REALLY REALLY recommend checking out the much larger HD version.

This movie looks uber sweet!

Stargate meets Jurassic Park

This past weekend saw the sixth and final episode of ITV's new sci-fi action series Primeval.

Primeval 02

I thought it got off to a shaky start, but it really developed into a fun adventure.

The basic premise is that strange portals to the past are appearing in England, and dinosaurs, and other now extinct creatures are coming through them. A team of scientists are put together to investigate these anomalies, as the portals are called by the team. As the episodes unfold, we learn that the long missing wife of the team's leader has been living the past and knows more about these anomalies than she will say.

Primeval 00

The special effects are actually pretty good for the most part, but there are a few times you just need to look the other way and let things be. This IS British TV after all. The creatures are realized by some of the same people that worked on the Walking with Dinosaurs series'. So for the most part there are some very believable creatures lurking about.

Primeval 01

The series really started getting good the last few episodes, and I was really disappointed and surprised when at the end of the fifth episode the preview for the next episode said it would be the series finale. Curse those short British series.

I just hope it did really well over there, and a second series will be coming soon. Because they of course ended the episode with a big cliff-hanger.

Also, I found it interesting that the series is out on DVD today in the UK. I know they tend to get things to DVD much sooner than we do, but this could be really good for the next series if a lot of people that missed the show on TV watch the DVDs.

Here's hoping they make more soon, and they make it to the US.

Save the date

Hey Everyone,

The feature film I spent most of my weekends on throughout 2005, and into 2006 is finally premiering in an actual movie theatre.

As some of you know I was the camera operator on a independent film called "broken" that was written and directed by my friend Derek Justice and his cousin David Deleon.

Broken: The Movie

We wrapped photography this past summer, and David has been busy editing the film between work and school.

We will be premiering the film on May 17th, 2007 at the Emagine Theatre in Novi, Michigan. The Emagine is a large theatre much like the Celebration or the AMC. Showtime will be at 8pm with most likely some sort of Q & A at the end, and then an after party to follow.

As soon as tickets are available you will be able to purchase them from the official "broken" site. In the meantime head over to check out the trailer, then stop by the "broken" and "broken street team" Myspace pages.

We want a really huge crowd at the show, so tell all your friends to head over to Novi to check it out.

We hope to have further showings, and possibly one on the west side of the state, but you really don't want to miss the premiere, do you?!
